bean bag hire Upper North Shore

The Wahroonga Food and Wine Festival is becoming one of the annual events I look forward to each year.  It’s a celebration of spring, and what better way to enjoy the warm weather than with the best local food, drinks and entertainment all in one place.

Coming up to its 5th year running, this festival is a bit of social event for me.  I especially love the local entertainment because it includes the local schools, so we see many familiar faces on stage.  One complaint from last year was the lack of seating, and every year sitting on the ground for extended periods of time to enjoy the entertainment gets just a little bit more uncomfortable.

This year, I am putting in more effort and making a proper day out of it.   I invited ten girlfriends and their families to join me for the “Inaugural Food and Wine Family Fun Day”.  Amazingly, they all said yes (I was allowing for a few cancellations, but the more the merrier).   Now, I knew exactly how many people were coming, it was time to get the picnic base organised.  The two most important things I needed to organise were the seating and the “minding the base roster”.   From 10am – 6pm, I allocated each of us an overlapping shift, to ensure that our home base was fully supervised (including looking after any of the children hanging out at home base).

I made some practical, easy to transport tables from milk crates, with a custom cut piece of wood for a table top.  These also acted as a great storage solution, winning!! For comfy seating, I decided on beanbags.  Who doesn’t love a beanbag? I contacted my friends at Outdoor Beanbag Hire who offered me the perfect solution.

From their range of ten bright colours, I went for bright blue, to make home base easy to find.  To save money, I chose to pick up the beanbags myself.  They also showed me how to squeeze the air out of the bags, so they took up heaps less room in the van.  These bags are tough and easy to clean.  All they needed was a quick wipe to remove the remnants of sticky fingers and spilled drinks.

This year, we are going to be festying in style and comfort, I can’t wait!!!
