Also known as the Garden Shire, the Hills District is made up of Sydney’s north western suburbs. Plenty of parks, reserves and riverside natural environments make this area popular with young, upwardly mobile families. This area is experiencing rapid growth, with plans in place for it to become Sydney’s newest CBD.
A $3 billion plan has been put in place to transform Baulkham Hills Norwest Business Park into a smart city with apartments, retail shops and the creation of 30 000 new-age jobs.
Bella Vista Farm Park is at the heart of The Hills culture. This is set on 20 hectares of parkland, with panoramic views from the Sydney basin to the Blue Mountains. This dog-friendly park has pleasant walking tracks and picnic areas for a family day out.
We love attending some of the fun, wonderful events held at Bella Vista Farm. There is plenty of space to spread out. The Australia Day Family Festival is becoming an annual event for our family.
One of my favourite events so far, at Bella Vista was September’s Park Feast. This weekend food truck festival was an absolute delight. We arrived in the early afternoon and pimped out our picnic spot for maximum comfort. The ground was covered with a huge picnic blanket (for the kids).
For the adults, we splashed out on hiring fabulous bright outdoor beanbags which made me feel like I was sitting on a cloud. Best decision ever! I picked them up from Outdoor Beanbag Hire the day before to save on delivery fees. They showed me how to squeeze the air out, so the beanbags took up much less room in the car. It was great not to have to worry spills and dirt, these beanbags are vinyl which makes cleaning a breeze. Just a quick wipe and they look good as new.
Indulging in BBQ ribs and burgers, on our beanbags with perfect weather was absolute bliss. The dessert trucks were next level, and I felt just a bit spesh being one of the first to try out Pasticceria Caruso’s cannoli food truck. The kids absolutely loved the unicorn burgers (bit too much for me, but they sure did look pretty)
After a day of indulging, it was a nice surprise how light and easy to carry the beanbags were on our trip back to the car. I think Outdoor Beanbag Hire have spoiled me for future picnic blankets.
