bean bag hire Sydney CBD

When the sun shines, I can definitely agree that Sydney is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. The shimmery waters of Sydney Harbour, with the iconic Sydney Opera House in the background take my breath away. This is just one of many stunning views you will see in the CBD. This buzzing city has myriads of attractions including stunning parks and gardens, exquisite restaurants, heritage buildings and exhilarating entertainment.

When the sun’s shining Sydneysiders love to spend time outside, whether its walking, relaxing or having a picnic. This city is blessed to have impressive parks and gardens within walking distance of the city centre. The spectacular Royal Botanic Garden covers 30 hectares of land, providing an inner-city Oasis on the edge of Sydney Harbour.

I walk around the gardens regularly to clear my head. On my last walk I was trying to come up with a birthday present idea for my darling mother. She is quite particular, so I try provide her with a lovely experience instead of a material item. Coming up with a new experience for her each year is becoming more difficult.

She absolutely loves High Tea, but that’s already been done a few too many times and would be far too predictable. She has often commented about how lovely it would be having High Tea in a scenic, outdoor location. The Stamford have just started offering takeaway High Tea, which comes with its own portable (cardboard) three-tiered stand. What a lever idea!

I thought that organising (buying) the food for this occasion would be the most difficult part. The Stamford have just made it so easy. The next task is to find a park close to Circular Quay (where I pick up my High Tea order). I end up choosing Barangaroo Reserve.

Bangaroo Reserve is perfect, with lush green grass and pretty harbour views. My mother is not a fan of sitting on the ground, so a picnic blanket is not an option. I have a look around for seating ideas and come across Outdoor Beanbag Hire. They hire colourful, vinyl beanbags that can easily convert into an upright chair which will make eating and drinking easier. If we want to relax later on, it’s easy to shake them back out to the standard lazy lounge position. It’s easy to squish the air out, so they take up less
room in the car. These bags are durable, made from quality vinyl which is easy to clean, and can withstand the elements.

Feeling pretty pleased with myself, I enlisted my sister to help me put this birthday plan in action. We were blessed with perfect weather. I went to the park early to get everything set up and my sister arrived with Mum.

The Stamford outdid themselves with their amazing scones, sweets and savouries. The bean bags were a winner. It felt totally decadent to have such a comfortable seat outdoors. Sydney turned on her sunshine making my Mother’s first visit to Barangaroo Reserve an absolute delight. Winning!

Now I’ll just have to think of something new for next year, wish me luck.
