Carols By Candlelight Christmas Catch ups
Christmas is such a crazy time of year!!
As well as the family Christmas celebrations that we do every year, it’s nice to try and squeeze in a friends celebration. That’s why I am starting to sort things out in October, because time seems to be run away from me at this time of year. Generally, I hold something at home, but to be honest I want to get out of the house this year (and avoid the cleaning involved). This year my venue is going to be Balmoral Reserve. It’s the perfect place to enjoy an afternoon/evening picnic with friends (and family friendly
too).
I’ve been meaning to attend the local Carols by Candlelight for years, so this year it’s going to be the venue of my Christmas catchup. I will set up for a late afternoon picnic and people can drop by whenever it suits them.
I am going to arrange the food and the set up, I just need to friends to bring themselves and whatever they want to want to drink. I’ve got a medium sized trestle sized table to put some easy, delicious food on, some gigantic red picnic blankets and a few eskies to keep the food and drinks cold. Usually we would take camp chairs to sit on, but I don’t have enough to seat everybody, and they aren’t the most stylish looking either. Even though we are just hanging out in the park, I do want to style my event a little bit, and it would be great to make this an annual tradition.
I loved sitting on beanbags at Moonlight Cinema, so decided to investigate whether hiring some outdoor beanbags would be a feasible option. I contacted Outdoor Beanbag hire, who were super helpful. They have a range of colours to choose from. I opted to gold and silver to complement the existing red colour scheme I had going on. They are happy to deliver the beanbags to me the day before (one less thing for me to worry about), and advised me that I can squash the beanbags down to take up less room on the way to Balmoral Reserve. I was pleased to find out that their bags are made from vinyl, so any sticky or dirty marks are easily wiped off.
I am looking forward to making it to Carols by Candlelight for the first time in a few years, and with a comfortable set up, it’s going to be a great day/night.
